The application itself is lightweight; your manuscripts are plain files on your disk, so the space you need scales with your library, not with the app. *Version 2 will add an optional, free fine-tuned GrimoireScribe model that runs entirely offline. Using it will require more capable hardware: see the Offline Mode page for the local model's per-device guidance.
