Acceptance of Terms
By accessing grimoirescribe.com or submitting your email to the waitlist, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use this site.
What This Site Is
This is a pre-launch marketing and waitlist website for GrimoireScribe, a desktop writing application currently in development, operating under a New Jersey DBA filing (trademark pending). Nothing on this site constitutes a sale, license, or binding commitment to deliver software by any particular date.
The Waitlist
Joining the waitlist means you're expressing interest in GrimoireScribe and consenting to receive a notification email when the product launches. It does not:
- Guarantee access to the software or any particular features
- Create a purchase agreement or reservation
- Guarantee delivery by any specific date
Our intent is to offer waitlist members the opportunity to purchase at the V1 launch price before it is raised for subsequent versions. This is our stated intention, not a binding contractual commitment. The final price has not yet been set, and product details remain subject to change. We will notify waitlist members by email before any purchase opportunity is made available.

Third-Party AI Providers
GrimoireScribe is a local-first application. We do not operate servers that receive or process your writing. However, certain optional cloud AI features transmit content from your device directly to third-party providers:
- Cloud AI writing features send your prose and context to the provider you choose (Anthropic (Claude), OpenAI (GPT), xAI (Grok), Google (Gemini), Mistral, DeepSeek, or MiMo (Xiaomi)). By using these features, you agree to be bound by that provider's terms of service and privacy policy. GrimoireScribe is not a party to that relationship and assumes no responsibility for how those providers handle your data.
- Optional semantic search. If you configure a cloud embedding provider (such as Voyage AI) for advanced world-document retrieval, document text is sent directly to that provider. This is entirely optional. Keyword-based retrieval works locally with no cloud dependency.
GrimoireScribe also includes a bundled local AI model (Offline Mode) that runs entirely on your device with no internet connection required.
All AI features are optional. The core writing, editing, and organization tools in GrimoireScribe function entirely offline.
You pay third-party AI providers directly at their published rates. GrimoireScribe takes no cut and adds no markup. The in-app Usage and Costs figures are estimates only. Provider prices change over time, and while we periodically ship updates (included in your purchase) that refresh our internal price data, the figures shown may differ from your provider's actual charges. We strongly recommend setting spending limits and thresholds directly with your chosen provider. We cannot set those limits on your behalf and are not responsible for any charges you incur with third-party providers.
Responsible Use of AI Features
GrimoireScribe is a tool for writing fiction. We do not support, condone, or encourage the use of any AI feature to create content that is illegal, that sexualizes minors, that promotes hatred or violence against real people or groups, or that is intended to cause real-world harm. You are solely responsible for the prompts you submit and the content you generate.
Every cloud AI provider we support enforces its own safety policies and content guardrails inside its models. The bundled local model that ships with V2 likewise retains the safety guardrails of its underlying open-source base. These protections are built into the models themselves; GrimoireScribe does not remove, disable, or circumvent them.
When you use a cloud AI feature, your use is governed by the chosen provider's terms of service and acceptable use policy. If a provider suspends, restricts, or terminates your account because of content you submitted or generated, that is a matter between you and that provider. GrimoireScribe is not a party to it, is not liable for it, has no ability to appeal or reverse it, and such action is not a defect in our software or grounds for a refund, return, or chargeback.
Any attempt to disable, bypass, or circumvent the safety guardrails of the bundled local model, or to otherwise use GrimoireScribe to generate prohibited content, is a violation of these terms and may result in immediate cancellation of your license without refund.
Support and Diagnostics
The app includes a local logging system. Logs are stored on your device and are never transmitted automatically. If you contact us for support, we may ask you to voluntarily share log files to help diagnose issues. Log files may contain fragments of your prose or project data. Sharing is at your discretion, and shared logs are used solely for debugging and deleted after the issue is resolved.
Purchasing the App
When GrimoireScribe becomes available for purchase, it will be sold as a perpetual license: a one-time payment that grants you the right to use that version of the software indefinitely. There are no subscriptions, no recurring charges, and no credits. You will not be charged automatically.
Each major version of GrimoireScribe is sold at a higher price than the previous. Owners of any prior version receive all future major versions included in their original purchase, at no additional cost. No upgrade is ever required, and your purchased version continues to work indefinitely.
Activations
A single license may be activated on up to 3 devices simultaneously, across any combination of supported platforms (Windows, Mac, iPad). You may deactivate a device at any time from within the app to free up an activation slot. There is no annual cap on deactivations or reassignments.
Refunds
We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee on all purchases of GrimoireScribe. If you are not satisfied within 30 days of purchase, contact us at [email protected] and we will issue a full refund, no questions asked. For full details, see our Refund Policy. All payments are processed by Paddle, our merchant of record, which handles VAT/sales tax globally.
This is a satisfaction guarantee offered in good faith for lawful use. It does not apply, and we reserve the right to decline a refund, where we have a reasonable basis to believe the Software was used for fraud, abuse, or to generate content prohibited under our Responsible Use of AI Features policy, including any attempt to produce sexual content involving minors or other unlawful material, or any case where a third-party AI provider has suspended or terminated your account for such content. Lawful, good-faith use is always covered.
No Warranties
This website and all information on it is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We make no guarantees about the accuracy of feature descriptions, timelines, or the eventual release of GrimoireScribe. Product details are subject to change.
Intellectual Property
All content on this site (including the GrimoireScribe name, logo, copy, and design) is the property of GrimoireScribe and may not be reproduced without written permission.
Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Submit false, misleading, or others' email addresses to the waitlist
- Attempt to interfere with or disrupt this website or its infrastructure
- Use automated means to scrape or interact with this site
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, GrimoireScribe shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of this website or reliance on information contained herein.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of New Jersey, United States. Any disputes shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in New Jersey.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms as the product evolves. Material changes will be reflected in the updated date above. Continued use of the site constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
